What happens on the visit

Expansion tanks

If your relief valve drips or your pipes bang when the heater runs, the problem might be pressure, not the heater. As water heats it expands, and if your home has a check valve or backflow preventer (common in newer builds), that pressure has nowhere to go. A thermal expansion tank absorbs it. They last 5 to 10 years, and when the internal bladder fails, pressure spikes force leaks at fittings and relief valves. We size them to your heater and water pressure and install them to code.

Maintenance and Northeast Ohio water

Akron-area water is hard, and hard water is what kills heaters early. Sediment builds in tanks, scale chokes tankless heat exchangers. An annual flush and an anode rod check buy you years, and flushing is a big part of the math in whether a maintenance plan is worth it.
