Q: Why are pedestal faucets so expensive to install?
A: Unlike a single hole kitchen faucet where there is just one thing to secure to the sink and connect, a pedestal faucet involves many more steps. On a pedestal, the mounting hardware for the faucet and the drain assembly aren’t accessible so we generally have to take the bowl off the wall or remove the pedestal before we can start. Once, we get the old faucet off and the new one on, we then have to re-install the pedestal let and bowl, all without any damaging the wall. It takes skill, patience and time to install a pedestal faucet well.
Q: Is there a price difference between installing a 4” centerset sink faucet and a widespread sink faucet?
A: Yes, installing a 4” centerset faucet is essentially installing one piece of hardware. One a widespread you have three separate pieces to install which can double or triple the time it takes to.
